Skill at maintaining your ship's armor and installing hull upgrades like expanded cargoholds and inertial stabilizers. Grants a 5% bonus to armor hit points per skill level.

Hull Upgrades gives a 5% bonus to ship armor per level, access to improved hull upgrade modules, and armor plating, hardeners, and reinforced plating. It is an important skill for any armor-tanked ship.

Note: There are two sets of most types of hull upgrade modules. Basic and named basic modules can be used by training the Mechanic skill to level I. The improved tech I and named tech I modules can be used by training this skill to level I.

Usage

Level I:

  • Armor plating, energized basic armor plating.
  • Damage Control I (pseudoelectron, internal force field, emergency damage control, F85).
  • Nanofiber Internal Structure I (Mark I, local hull conversion, beta-mod, type-D).
  • Expanded cargohold I (Mark I, local hull conversion, beta-mod, type-D).
  • Reinforced bulkhead I (Mark I, local hull conversion, beta-mod, type-D).
  • Inertial stabilizers I (Mark I, local hull conversion, beta-mod, type-D).
  • Overdrive injector I (Mark I, local hull conversion, beta-mod, type-D).
  • 50mm and 100mm reinforced plates.

Level II:

  • (Tech 2 hull upgrades)
  • 200mm reinforced plates.

Level III:

  • Energized armor membranes (EANM)
  • 400mm, 800mm, and 1600mm reinforced plates.
  • 50mm and 100mm reinforced steel plates II.

Level IV:

  • Tech II armor plating.
  • Armor hardeners.
  • 200mm reinforced steel plates II.
  • Damage Control II.

Level V:

  • Tech II energized armor membranes (EANM).
  • Tech II armor hardeners.
  • 400mm, 800mm, and 1600mm reinforced steel plates II.
