Destroyers are specialized anti-frigate hulls. They gain more turret hardpoints and some hitpoints over frigates at the cost of maneuverability. Unfortunately, the hitpoint gain is not sufficient to overcome the speed differential, making them very fragile in any PVP context involving anything more than frigates. The only notable fit is a high-SP PVP Coercer.

However, destroyers are useful as salvaging platforms due to their 8 highslots and speed. They also make excellent highsec suicide gank ships, with the Thrasher having the best DPS/cost ratio in the game. Despite these aspects, most train Destroyers just to get into the highly useful Interdictors.

All hulls are valued around 1m ISK.

The Sniping Destroyer

A destroyer set up for "sniping" with T2 small guns can be extraordinarily effective at killing interceptors and other tech-two frigates. These setups are somewhat high-risk, as they involve loading a paper-thin destroyer hull with a bunch of expensive tech two gear, but they only require a day or two at most of added training if you have T2 small guns already, and they're one of the best and most unexpected ways to kill hostile interceptors.
