Jump freighters are freighters that can use either standard jumpgates (like regular freighters) or a built-in jumpdrive (like capital ships). Jump freighters are sure to become the backbone of any logistics operation, as well as the fundamentally necessary component in any massive trading operation happening in low-sec or true-sec. While costing more to jump than carriers, jump freighters have very respectable cargo space and, specifically, the ability to move large volumes of goods over large distances than any other currently existing ship. Jump freighters have all of the drawbacks of regular freighters (slow to align, no slots, very vulnerable) save one; a jump drive. This fact alone makes jump freighters the ultimate logistics tool. The only real problem is that ccp didn't put a buffer time in-between the nerfing of carriers and the implementation of jump freighters.
