Warning: this is NOT your momma's Blood Military Complex and can and will kill your uber-tanked main tank if you're not careful.
You land 20 km away from the next gate. There are 3 groups of 2-3 BS and some cruisers/frigates gathered around about eight sentry turrets 20-50km from you. Half the BS orbit at 50km, half at 6km. Some of the frigates sensor damp. Nothing too special, although you will have to burn between groups to kill them in a reasonable time.
There is a gate unlocking structure near the acceleration gate into room 2. Oddly, you do not need to kill it to use the next gate, nor does it require a tag or anything of that nature - it may even be possible to just run to the gate and use it. Shooting it once spawns another 4-5 BS + support, evenly split between where the 3 original groups spawned. Killing it does nothing.
On a followup visit, I confirmed it's possible to just go straight for the gate and skip the whole room.
You land on grid with 1 cruise missile battery, 6 BS (again, split between far and close range), 3 cruisers and 3 webbing/scramming frigs. A minute or so later, another group appears. Other groups appear from the pleasure dome structures (it's probably possible to stop them by blowing the structures up) for a total of 6 waves. The final tally is something like 23 BS, 13 frigates and about 11 cruisers. A triple trimarked, double plated abaddon with 2 active hardeners of each type and a DC being supported by 2 remote reps needed to warp out 3 times before finishing this room off from a full spawn. No faction BS observed.
There is also a structure labeled "Serpentis Control Tower". I shot it after everything else was dead, it died in 3 hits and gave me an escalation into an Ev0ke station system :welp: Note: As of 04DEC2011 this is now called "Slick Silver Control Tower" and killing it gives you an escalation, or not.
It may be possible to ninja this room just like the last by simply shooting the control tower and getting out. <-- Confirming that this worked for me, 6/6/11
Killing the station ASAP also prevents the subsequent spawns, so what seems like a difficult site at first becomes trivial with a few well-placed shots.
The frigates that spawn are elite frigates and they'll be more than happy to web and fuck you. Be sure you're paying attention as the new waves spawn, because you'll want to pop them as soon as possible.
This room is trivially easy to tank if you are flying a fast ship (>500 m/s). When you land in the room, you will land some distance away from both groups of ships that are already there and the tower/pleasure garden structures. All you have to do is turn on your ab and burn directly away from the cruise missile battery. When you get to 100km or so off the battery, orbit the battery at current (whatever that happens to be). You want to be this far away so you're essentially out of range of everything except the cruiser missile battery which will do trivial damage to a cruiser going 500+ m/s and the long range BS with shitty tracking. All you do now is target and kill the elite frigates as they spawn. While you will spend a lot of your time damped due to the copious elite cruisers, the elite frigates are the only ships which can conceivably catch up to you so, once they're in your range, just pop them. Since you're orbiting so far away, you should have a comfortable buffer before a) they catch you and b) if they do catch you, to kill them before much else can catch up with you and kill you.
Once you've killed all the elite frigates that spawn, you can choose a new orbit point or tighten your orbit, as you prefer, so you spend less of your time damped and can kill the remaining spawns more easily. Do note that at this point you'll be looking at some 20 bs, 10 elite cruisers and the missile battery, so even though your speed tank won't be compromised, you are still looking at a set of opponents who can potentially put out an extreme amount of damage, so don't just click approach and go afk without keeping up your transversal and watching your tank.
Obviously if you are doing this with friends, just have them wait in the other room until you're sure all of the spawns have appeared and aggro'd, at which case they can join the fun.
You warp in on top of the acceleration gate. There are 4 BS, a few frigates and cruisers within 10 km of you. Kill the Shadow Serpentis BS, or, if it's in an Ev0ke station system and you're using a t1 cruiser to ninja the plex, just take the gate. Taking the gate lands you on top of a single cruiser. Killing it starts the next escalation. Warning: this took me from 9-4 all the way into Fade, 10 jumps away.
You warp in anywhere from on top of to 40km from 11-12 BS and 14 cruisers, which are in several groups around two rows of bunkers, walls, etc. just like in the original plex. There is also a "Control Tower" structure and a "Serpentis Stronghold" structure. 3-4 BS are close range, the rest are far.
Killing the control tower does nothing, but attacking the stronghold spawns 8 CM batteries, 4 sensor dampening cruisers, 3 long range BS and a faction BS all around the structure. Killing that BS triggers another escalation. In my case it was straight into Mostly Harmless' dead end station constellation in Fade so that really is the end of this story vOv
This operates much like the first one, warping to a gate with a small group of ships (2 frigs, 5 BC, 3 BS, 1 faction BS). Killing the faction BS triggers the next stage. If this fails, take the gate inside to the next room. You will get a message about a Guidance Beacon in the room, which you can blow up for another shot at an escalation.
I made it to the final escalation, and what is listed out below is accurate. I rolled this with two priest Domis and a dual remote rep carrier, and for a while I had every rep running to keep up with the incoming damage.
"A fixed guidance beacon sitting here all alone.. you examine the thing and discover its guidance system points to a place not too far away. Perhaps that is the space trucker station? In any case, that is the only clue you have to follow, if the pirates have ever been here, they have gone already. "
As you warp to the bookmark you get the message...
"A peaceful station, where transport ships get refitted and refuelled. Almost too peaceful... "
On warp in you see 4 truckers who vanish sharpish. they must be aware of the mega-spawn of Serpentis nasties on their way to say hello. Get ready to encounter several waves of ships, culminating in the field being filled with 20+ BS with assorted additional frigs, cruisers and BCs, all intent on melting your face while dampening you down so hard you'll have trouble targeting your own lips.
If you manage to survive this wrongness you may see a Serpentis Relay Commander hiding amongst the mix. Shoot this fellow and...
You get another spawn with another 8 BS and another Relay Commander. Grrr. Oh yeah, and some webbing and scramming frigs to boot.
OK, so kill THAT commander and Black Caesar appears with a bunch of webbing frigs, a bunch of dampening cruisers, and some more BS. My dominix could not lock out past 8km with all the damps on it, as well as being quadruple webbed and scrammed.
Kill Black Caesar; 10 Dragonflies easily broke his tank. Core A-Type if you are lucky, and he drops a considerable ammount of T2 salvage as well.
Sounds like you need to drop either a carrier or a small group with good tank & reps on the thing.
2/8/10: second escalation BS dropped tags, faction ammo, thermic plating, energized reactive membrane, thermic hardener, and an SS 100mn MWD :woot:
28/03/2011 no escalation, no shadow bs, nothing. Fuck CCP
01/051/2011: No escalation. :ccp:
07/22/2011: Escalated through three stages before dead end. Mostly low-end faction drops like plating and hardeners, but on the first stage the faction BS dropped a Snake Omega. My penis got hard.
12/5/2011: Escalated all the way to the final stage. Total take for the entire chain of escalations was 100mn AB (25m), Shadow Serpentis Reactive Plating (worthless), Shadow Serpentis Armor Thermic hardener (23m), Shadow Serpentis Energized magnetic Membrane (worthless), Core A-Type EM Hardener (75m), and Core A-Type Explosive Hardener (150m). No effects for some reason, but the final escalation alone is worth 100m in bounties.
12/10/2012: No Escalation and no faction BS.....thanks CCP
